Purchased book after it was released!! Loved it that much and want to support the author.
This book is phenomenal! When Liam is introduced for the first time and she realizes there is something different about him, I could actually feel her shock, her surprise and her fear. It was an amazing moment for me in the book. I mean, I actually felt it. Ms. Adams wrote this book beautifully. I have never read a book where I felt that I was actually watching the scenes happen in person. The way Liam spoke, touched and whispered to Sophie was so erotic.
There is also action in the book. Top notch stuff. I can't praise this book enough. The ending was surprising, not what I had expected. But I have to say it's the best book I've read in a very, very long time. I'm sad it's over though, maybe one day there will be a continuation of the story. When you finish the book, you'll understand what I mean. Sigh.....
I recommend this book highly. It was a fantastic and amazing read. It is a must to read, you'll be so happy you did!!

I would have given this book 5 stars but the ending was really, really, really annoying. I loved the two main characters but I expected a better ending than what I received. I want to say that I was surprised by who the bad guy was, but I wasn't (Don't worry even Ellery Queen can't surprise me when it comes to the villain) I would have liked a bit more detail when it came to the investigation of the murder(s) and a couple of other things (resurrection, shooting, hospital, Liam) and not sure why the author didn't include it but all in all it is a good book.
I was given this book as an ARC in return for an honest review.
I was unsure of what to think initially as I typically don't read supernatural/paranormal books. I am happy to say that I was largely pleasantly surprised.
The story was interesting and flowed well and I found myself engrossed in learning about the characters.
Really, my only complaint was how the story ended. It can't be classified as a HEA, which is really what I was expecting. Instead, it just kind of ended. It left me disappointed.
Overall, I was glad that I read it and can say that Michaela wrote another great book.
Devilish is the first book that I have read by Michaela Adams and I'm a fan. It took me a little to adjust to her writing style (multiple switches from 1st person to 3rd person in the same paragraph/chapter) but the story was intriguing enough to hold me over till I adapted. The first chapter was pretty rough as we were witness to the torture/murder/rape of Sophia and her family. In the "in between" she makes a deal with a demon - she gets revenge and he gets her soul. Through discovering who set up the murder and why they were murdered in the first place the demon (who takes on the appearance of her stepbrother Liam) grows to respect Sophia - he was already intrigued by her due to the amount of anger/hate she had upon her death but now he respect her. There are twist and turns and while you think you know who was behind everything and why I have to say there was a twist that I didn't see coming (I can typically figure these things out easily). In the end I have to say the story ended exactly how it should have. I know some people like an HEA and due to the fact that the demon show more than just interest in Sophia some may what them to end up together or for him to let her keep her soul - well it doesn't end that way so if that is what you want then you will be pissed. However, the ending stayed true to the book - which I sincerely appreciate.
If you can get past the first chapter I think you will really enjoy the book -)

I read Taken by this author, another step brother romance. I did not enjoy that one either.
I will say when you read a step brother romance, you look for love making, sneaking around, getting caught, the drama that comes with that. Connection, from them growing together, In between to connect you. Problems they face together so the couple comes out stronger, makes the reader believe in the love. Makes you feel your in their head. Something addictive to pull you in. And when it is over, you want more. Then I do not feel you will like this.
Penelope Ward-Stepbrother Dearest and Abby Glines- Fallen To Far, Are the best step brother romance I have read to date, I can not find anything to even hold a candle to them.
Great story
I liked the subject of this book, it was different then what I usually read. I really liked the characters. The twists and turns made me not want to put it down. It ended the way it should have even tho I didn't like it. Overall would recommend.
This book is very intense. The scenes are very descriptive and very deep. I felt like I was right there. Sophia and her family are victims of a home invasion. This is the biggest and most graphic and intense. Sophia wakes up in a strange place. She is offered a a deal to get revenge. When she wakes up she is alive and back home. Liam is there but how. Her feelings for him are so ramped up. But he is different. The way things play out between them is amazing. You seem to feel everything they both feel. The author has an amazing ability to make you see and feel this whole book. I thought I knew how things were going but so many twists and turns. Then the ending. I'm not giving anything away but I really need to talk to the author. I kept flipping pages. Where is the epilogue? What wait what?? oh my what a great book Must read.
